The main goal of the shelter is to provide a safe place for lost animals until they can be returned to their owners. This search is aided by the assitance of the local by-law officers. If an owner cannot be found the animal is temperment tested to see if it is adoptable. Every effort is made to help ensure that animals that come into the shelter are placed in loving and caring homes.

The name of the disease, Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency is hard to pronounce, so we use Alpha-1 for short.
