Graduate of sport and exercise studies can work in the sports industry, the health industry, in academia, or in recreation. In the sports industry they can work as sports therapists, fitness center managers, sports administers, coaching, or strength and conditioning specialists. They can also work for sports facilities such as the YMCA/YWCA and private health clubs. In the health industry they can work as dieticians or nutritionists. With additional training they can go into physical or occupational therapy. They can also work in marketing and media relations.
Graduates can remain in school and teach kinesiology, physical education, sports physiology, or sport psychology at the post-secondary level while doing research at the same time. They can also get an additional teaching degree and teach physical education or coaching at the primary and secondary school level.
Graduates can also find a career in recreation, such as running community sports programs, parks management, sport tourism, and in summer or kids camps.
Graduates can also undertake further training to become a physiotherapist, exercise physiologist, or clinical exercise consultant. They can also use their degree for entry to medicine, business management, or recreation and tourism.
