What is Environmental Engineering?Environmental engineering (also called natural resources engineering or natural resources management) is the application of engineering principles to improve the environment, to provide healthy land and air for habitation, and to remedy polluted sites. It involves water and air pollution control, recycling, waste disposal, and the environmental impact of proposed construction projects.
In many universities, environmental engineering is usually placed within civil or chemical engineering, depending on the subspecialty (hydrology and water resource management for civil engineering, and air and water treatment technologies for chemical engineering).
