SportAbility is a non-profit, volunteer driven association whose goal is to provice sporting oppertunities for athletes with a wide range of disabilities. We support people of all ages and offer multiple adapted sports, such as sledge Hockey, Power Soccer, 7-aside soccer and Para-cycling. As a multi-sport multi-disability associaiton., Sportability strives to offer its Members and volunteers programs at both recreational and competitive levels.
What services does your organization provide? Sport Background in the following Sports, Boccia, Soccer, Hockey, Volleyball and cycling. NCCP coaching certificate- asset Frist Aid- Asset
Do you have any age requirements? 16+
Are there any other requirements for being a volunteer? Background in Sports in areas such as event staff, referee, coaching ect.
Are there any specific skills and experience required? Event staff- wide range of hours Coaching- Ongoing Referee- Events
What type of volunteer positions are typically available? Power Soccer - Referee Sledge Hockey- Equipment Managers Para-cycling -Coach Boccia - officials (referee, liners, timers)
Is there any training provided for volunteers? On-going trainning, Shadowing Program
How will a person benefit from volunteering with SportAbility? Hands on experience with adapted programs, and one on one with athelte's.
Do you accept high school students? Yes - all volunteers are welcome
