Do you require language proficiency other than in English? None
What time commitment(s) are you expecting from a volunteer? To commit to a full session (about 3 months) and volunteer minimum of 1 hour a week in either a regular of fill in capacity
Are there any other requirements for being a volunteer? -Provide a current Police Records Check and Vulnerable Position Screening -Have reliable transportation to and from SARI -Be able walk and jog unaided across sand/loose dirt surfaces for up to one hour -Be highly attentive and responsive to their environment
Are there any specific skills and experience required? Horse experience recommended but not required
What type of volunteer positions are typically available? Program Volunteer: Leading or Sidewalking in therapeutic Riding lessons. Volunteer Instructor: Must volunteer in program for at least 3 months before applying. Event Committee and Day Of volunteers Board of Directors
Is there any training provided for volunteers? There is a 3 hour program volunteer training where volunteers work hands on with the horses to learn how to safely groom, tack up, lead and sidewalk with horses and riders.
What are the typical volunteer activities occurring at your organization? Helping in therapeutic riding lessons and at fundraising events.
