We are a drop in centre for anybody who wants to visit. We are open each weekday. We open at 9 with coffee and goodies available, serve soup at 10, and a full nutrtitious meal at 11. We close by 11.30. There is some clothing available on a by chance basis for those in need, and an art group meets most Fridays.

What time commitment(s) are you expecting from a volunteer? We try to have one team for each weekday, so a volunteer is expected to be there from 9 to 11.30 on one day a week.
Are there any other requirements for being a volunteer? No
Are there any specific skills and experience required? The volunteer is preparing meals and serving cafeteria style.
What type of volunteer positions are typically available? Kitchen help
Is there any training provided for volunteers? Observation of how the programme works.
What are the typical volunteer activities occurring at your organization? We are always ready to see if new volunteers will fit in. We have a turnover of volunteers, and we have vacancies when some go on vacations or are sick.
How will a person benefit from volunteering with Lunch By George sponsored by Outreach St Georges Kingston? They will see a segmen of society they may not otherwise meet. They will learn to work on a team with a deadline to meet. They may find a new vocation!
