What services does your organization provide? March Break/Summer Camp, After School Program, Birthday Parties, Drop-in/Drop-off, and special kid's events. We specialize in kids ages 4 to 12 years.
Do you have any age requirements? 16 years and up - mature and responsible a must.
Do you require language proficiency other than in English? Not required.
What time commitment(s) are you expecting from a volunteer? 10-15 hours per week - more opportunity available during camp time.
Are there any other requirements for being a volunteer? Personable, friendly, and can easily develop rapport with children. Basic computer knowledge. Enthusiastic and energetic. Available to work in the afternoon during the weekdays for after school program and on the weekends for parties/events. Summer Camp hours available as well.
Are there any specific skills and experience required? Knowledge of and/or experience with various sports activities such as hockey, soccer, basketball, baseball and dodgeball. Experience with organizing and leading activities/programs for kids. CPR and First Aid trained an asset. Mature and responsible is a must. Ability to work well in a fast paced environment while ensuring safety of kids first and foremost.
Is there any training provided for volunteers? Training will be provided in organizing sports activities, Arts and crafts, various games/activities for kids, customer service tasks, computer work, maintenance of the facility.
How will a person benefit from volunteering with Kidsportsplex? Develop leadership, time management, and multi-tasking skills and gain experience working with children in a sports environment.
Do you accept high school students? Yes we accept students looking to fulfill graduation requirement for service hours.
