Volunteer Information for Errington Therapeutic Riding Association
What services does your organization provide? We provide therapeutic riding lessons for the mentally and physically disabled.
Do you have any age requirements?
Must be at least 19 yrs. old and relatively fit.
Must be available for a 2 or 3 hour shift.
Must attend an orientation session.
Horse handlers must attend a handling clinic.
Do you require language proficiency other than in English? No.
What time commitment(s) are you expecting from a volunteer? We hold 5 - 1 hour session on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Volunteers can commit to as many lessons as they like.
Are there any other requirements for being a volunteer? Criminial Records Check must be completed.
Are there any specific skills and experience required? No.
What type of volunteer positions are typically available? Sidewalkers, Horse Handlers and a Hats and Belts person. We also have a volunteer fundraiser
Is there any training provided for volunteers? An orientation and a horse handling clinic take place twice a year.
