The Coho Society is a volunteer, environmentally based organization that organizes and participates in events to sustain their mission of protecting and revitalizing North Shore waterways so we can all enjoy salmon that live in a natural habitat for many years to come.

What services does your organization provide? We provide funding to not-for-profit groups on Vancouver's North Shore that align with our mission. We also offer support such as volunteers to help with events.
Do you have any age requirements? Pre-teen to seniors
Do you require language proficiency other than in English? No but would be a benefit!
What time commitment(s) are you expecting from a volunteer? Various. Depends on the event or activity. 2 hours to 8 hours.

What type of volunteer positions are typically available? Coho Festival - Sept 9,2012 Volunteers are needed for the following areas: Coho Run, Coho Swim, Coho Walk, Salmon BBQ, setup, take down, site maintenance, traffic control and more.
Is there any training provided for volunteers? Orientation of event, location's amenities, duties and requirements of safety (if needed)
What are the typical volunteer activities occurring at your organization? Accompanying leaders during interpretive walks, setting up tables & chairs, setting up food stations, posting of signs, etc.
How will a person benefit from volunteering with Coho Society? Learn about and be inspired to understand our role in protecting fish-bearing streams and surrounding habitats.
