What services does your organization provide?
We have programs for youth immigrants and refugees, women who are newcomers and immigrants, inclusive soccer for children of low-Income, Literacy for French Speaking immigrants and Computer literacy for individuals who want to learn computer basics. For more go to www.baobabinclusive.ca


Do you have any age requirements?
Volunteers must be mature, ready to learn, pass criminal record check,ready to commit at least 20 hours a week, be punctual and honest.


Do you require language proficiency other than in English?
French speakers, Arabic and Chinese are welcome


What time commitment(s) are you expecting from a volunteer?
At least 20 hours a week.


Are there any other requirements for being a volunteer?
A volunteers must pass a criminal record and reference check.


Are there any specific skills and experience required?
No, we will like to have people who are interested in working with new immigrants and refugees. Volunteers can be students or individuals who have great computer, communication and project skills.


What type of volunteer positions are typically available?
Youth Facilitator,Settlement,mentor,women's facilitator, web-specialist, Education Assistant, Project assistant, office coordinator, admin assistant, Board member-volunteers highly needed.


Do you provide training for volunteers?
We have some basic computer and orientation at our center.


What are the typical volunteer activities occurring at your organization?
We have facilitators, interpreters, board members, settlement, soccer coaches,web-designers etc.


How will a person benefit from volunteering with Baobab Inclusive Empowerment Society?
They will eventually gain really job experience from volunteering and will get to be part of a great organization.


Do you accept high school students?
Yes, we accept young students and have been mentoring some in the past.
