Studying Kinesiology in Canada |
Students studying kinesiology learn about the growth and structure of the human body, effective and efficient movement of the body, the fine line between performance and injury of the body, and historical trends and development in kinesiology. Students study topics such as human anatomy, biomechanics, exercise physiology, cultural aspects of sport and physical activity, leadership theory, and the history of sport and physical education.
Students also examine the concepts of fitness, nutrition, and wellness. They also study the psychology of physical activity and how a positive mind can benefit the body.
Students participate in physical activities during their programs. This includes sports such as tennis, skiing, badminton, curling, weight training, luge, and track and field. This allows students to realize how their classroom learning can be applied to clients in the real world.
