Students are taught all aspects of data analysis, mathematical statistics, classical and modern methods in linear and non-linear models, and survival analysis. Students can specialize in topics such as Bayesian methods, statistical methods as applied to genetics, and computer intensive techniques.
Courses include public health sciences, experimental design, survey methods, spatial modeling, and epidemiology. Directed studies in special topics in biostatistics are available upon request. All students also get practical training working with practitioners, typically at surrounding hospitals or research institutes.
