Lakeland College's 12-week Fire Fighter certificate program provides National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1001 Standard training to individuals aspiring to a career in Firefighting. The Program includes Standard Level "C" First Aid/CPR and Wildlife Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications. Furthermore, the Program may be used as a 'prerequisite for entry to other NFPA professional standards training.'

Lethbridge Community College's Credential of Academic Achievement in Fire Service Administration enables firefighters or other qualified persons to obtain greater 'knowledge specifically honed to' their duties as administrators in the Firefighting industry. The Program does not involve courses in Firefighting but rather, primarily, in business administration and management.
