PROGRAM WEBSITE Fire Service Administration - Lethbridge Community College Lethbridge Community College's Credential of Academic Achievement in Fire Service Administration program enables firefighters or other qualified persons to obtain greater 'knowledge specifically honed to' their duties as administrators in the Firefighting industry. As such, the Program does not involve courses in Firefighting but rather, primarily, in business administration and management. Courses for the Program have been 'chosen in consultation with the Lethbridge Fire Department and geared to complement the duties administrators handle in their work.' To complete the Program, the student must 'study in five core courses,' including Business Law, Business Writing, Information Management and Applications, Introduction to Management, and Management Communications and select two electives closely related to' his/her 'professional duties.' Electives will be selected from Abnormal Psychology, Crisis Intervention, Financial Accounting, Industrial and Labour Relations, Introduction to Psychology, Public Relations, Statistics. To be eligible for admission to the Program, the applicant must be a 'First Class Firefighters or a person approved by his/her fire department.' Graduates of the Program can pursue professional (paid) or volunteer work in various aspects of fire investigation and prevention for fire departments in Lethbridge and throughout southern Alberta, and in other jurisdictions in Canada where the Credential is accepted.
