Helping With Furniture
1900 Marquis Avenue, Unit 6, Ottawa, Ontario K1J8J2
We are a volunteer-run charitable organization that provides gently-used furniture and household goods to families and individuals in need. In particular, we focus on newcomers to Canada who are living in the Ottawa area.
Since 2005 we have helped more than 1000 families and currently have more on a waiting list. Most of our families come to us through referrals from social agencies. They have often fled from conflict and life-threatening situations and arrive in Canada with little more than hope to sustain them. Those who can find housing often spend months with little or no furniture.
