The University of British Columbia offers graduate programs in earthquake engineering. A minimum B+ average in a related undergraduate program such as civil or structural engineering is necessary for admission to the Master's level programs. Hands-on experience through co-op, directed studies, or out-of-school employment will increase the chances of admission.
Admission to the PhD program requires a minimum B+ average in a relevant Master's level program. Direct admission from an honors undergraduate degree is possible with an A average and a demonstrated ability for independent research. In all cases a supervisor must be chosen prior to final admission to the earthquake engineering programs.
