Wilfrid Laurier University is consistently ranked among the top post-secondary schools in Canada by Maclean’s Magazine. The University particularly stands out for its business school, comprehensive music department programs, and graduate programs from the Faculty of Social Work, which also offers seminary degrees through the Waterloo Lutheran Seminary. As part of the 'TriUniversity Group of Libraries,' Wilfrid Laurier University pools its library resources with those of the University of Guelph and the University of Waterloo to offer its students access to over 6 million printed items. In 1999, the University opened a campus in Brantford, Ontario that was expanded upon in 2004 with the completion of an academic building, two residence apartment buildings, and an extension to the science building. In 2006, the University’s Faculty of Social Work is relocating to the former St. Jerome’s College building in Kitchener, Ontario.

Wilfrid Laurier University provides a broad spectrum of undergraduate and graduate degrees, diplomas, and certificates encompassing over 80 areas of study from the Faculties of Arts, Business and Economics, Music, Science, and Social Work. The University also offers seminary degrees from the Waterloo Lutheran Seminary via Wilfrid Laurier’s Faculty of Social Work. The Continuing Education Division of Wilfrid Laurier University also makes available courses and programs for academic, personal, and/or professional interests. Such offerings include preparatory and subject review classes for high school mathematics and the “Financial Planners Standards Council’s (FPSC) Certified Financial Planner Examination.” The Continuing Education Division also provides activities for children including an acting studio and an archaeology summer camp for pre-teens aged 8-12.
