The University of Victoria (UVic) is nationally recognized for its dedication to co-op learning and its research and scholarship achievements. UVic has Western Canada’s largest co-op program with opportunities in over 40 areas of study and it has been a recipient of the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada ScotiaBank Award for Excellence in Internationalization. The University’s Faculty of Business has also won the aforementioned award as well as awards for its global programs. UVic is Canada's top comprehensive universities in terms of size and number of grants in the areas of medicine and science per faculty member and is in the top 3 with respect to research grants per faculty member in the Humanities and Social Sciences. The University is particularly noted for its innovation and research in oceans and climate change, environmental sustainability, fine arts and technology, physics and astronomy as well as its indigenous initiatives and community-based research. UVic has founded an 'Innovation and Development Corporation' (IDC) which has helped establish over 35 companies and the University has filed patents for over 65 inventions resulting from the research and development of the IDC. The University is in the top 20% of Canadian post-secondary institutions in student financial aid and UVic graduates have the highest satisfaction rate when it comes to overall educational experience with over 97% reported to be satisfied.

The University of Victory (UVic) offers over 100 undergraduate degrees, diplomas, and certificates from the Faculties of Business, Education, Engineering, Fine Arts, Humanities, Human and Social Development, Interdisciplinary Programs, Law, Science, Medical Sciences, and Social Sciences. The University also has over 70 graduate degrees at the master’s and doctorate levels; graduate students are allowed to customize their respective degrees by either designing their own interdisciplinary program or choosing an area of study not formally recognized by the University. However, once a student has designed his/her program he/she may not formally pursue it for credit until it has received final approval from the appropriate academic authorities. Additionally, UVic has the largest co-op learning program in Western Canada with over 40 areas of study eligible for paid workplace experience nationally and internationally.
