University Facts and Statistics: University of Trinity College |
The University of Trinity College is federated with the University of Toronto and students at the former may take Arts and Science courses and programs at the latter. The University of Trinity College is founded upon Anglican traditions and it is from the Anglican perspective that courses and programs are taught; however, students do not have to be Anglican to attend the School and, in fact, Trinity College claims to encourage diversity and inclusiveness. However, Trinity College is an elitist post-secondary institution in that it has among the most challenging admissions standards in Canada and has the second highest entry requirements of the federated colleges of the University of Toronto with Innis College having the most difficult. The University’s Faculty of Divinity is part of 6 other theological institutions which share a common curriculum and which together make up the Toronto School of Theology.

Academics: University of Trinity College |
The academic offerings at the University of Trinity College includes 3 interdisciplinary undergraduate programs, administered in tandem with the Faculty of Arts and Science of the University of Toronto, consisting of Ethics, Society, and Law, Immunology, and International relations. As a result of being federated with the University of Toronto, students at Trinity College are allowed to take the full compliment of courses and programs proffered by the former’s Faculty of Arts and Science. Recently, Trinity College introduced 'Trinity One,' a first-year program designed for new students to learn about ideas and issues that influence contemporary life and the world; the program has 2 streams, International Relations and Ethics, but students only register in one of them. The University of Trinity College also offers 11 graduate degree options, through its Faculty of Divinity, including 6 at the 'basic' degree level, designed for both the laity and ordained clergy, and 5 at the 'advanced' degree level, which are managed jointly with the Advanced Degree Division of the Toronto School of Theology, including 3 doctorates. Additionally, the Faculty of Divinity offers 3 diploma programs consisting of the Diploma in Ministry, the Diploma in the Ministry for Church Musicians, and the Diploma in Theology. The aforementioned diploma opportunities are for individuals that have received at least a bachelor’s degree with a minimum grade average of “B-,” although exceptions may be made on a case by case basis.
