Some community colleges offer certificate and diploma programs as PT assistants. To be admitted, students must have completed high school with English, mathematics, and biology, with at least a C average. As well, students must have valid First Aid and CPR certification, as well as up-to-date medical immunizations. A police record check may also be required.
To be admitted to an undergraduate program in PT, students must have completed high school with English, mathematics, chemistry, physics, and biology, with at least a B average. Experience in a healthcare setting, such as through volunteer work, is an asset.
