Most universities in Canada offer an undergraduate mechatronics option: either through their mechanical, electrical, or computer engineering departments. The University of Waterloo also offers several graduate-level programs in mechatronics.
BCIT offers a diploma in mechatronics and robotics technology. High school completion is required for admission, with the completion of (and an average of at least 60%) English, math, and physics. Chemistry is recommended. Upgrading options are available for those who have not completed high school.
For admission to undergraduate degree programs in mechatronics, completion of high school is once again a requirement, with an average of at least 75-80%. Generally, English, math, and physics are required. Chemistry is considered an asset.
