Most community colleges and trade schools offer training in horticulture, resulting in a certificate, diploma, and apprenticeship opportunities. Admission to these programs requires completion of high school with a grade of at least C, with English, mathematics, life sciences, and physics. For apprenticeships, you must have prior or current work in the horticulture industry.
Several schools (eg. Olds, UBC, Guelph, NSAC) offer undergraduate BSc degree programs in horticulture. Completion of high school is required, with an average of at least B. Generally, English, mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology are required.
