Prerequisites for Graduate Studies in Geotechnical Engineering |
A previous degree in a related discipline (eg. engineering, civil engineering) with a minimum B+ average is required for admission to a graduate-level program in geotechnical engineering. Advanced experience in a geotechnical engineering environment (eg. co-op, directed studies, out-of-school employment, etc), is considered an asset.
Admission to a PhD program can either be directly from an undergraduate degree (with extensive research experience and being published in a peer-reviewed journal), or after acquiring a relevant Master's-level degree.
As all graduate programs require a supervisor, most schools require this person to be approved prior to final admission.
