Admission to graduate degrees (MEng, MSc, MFS, etc) requires completion of an undergraduate degree in a related field with at least a B+ average. Acceptable fields include chemistry and biochemistry. Students are admitted to the PhD programs with a completed Master's-level degree. Some schools allow direct entry with an undergraduate degree (skipping the Master's level) and an average of A-. In all cases, previous industry experience or other practical experience is an asset.
McGill University offers a post-graduate certificate in food science. For admission to this program, students must have completed a previous degree in a science-related discipline.
