Most universities in Canada offer a biomedical engineering degree program. BCIT also offers a diploma in Biomedical Engineering Technology. High school graduation with English, math, physics, and chemistry is required. Upgrading courses are available for those who have not completed high school. Basic computer skills are an asset, and an interview may be necessary for final admission.
For undergraduate degree programs in BME, completion of high school is required, with an average of at least 75%, and completion of English, math, and physics. As well, courses in chemistry, biology, or medicine are recommended for admission to biomedical engineering.
