September 28, 2005 Source: University College of Cape Breton: http://www.capebretonu.ca/capebretonu_main/newsrel/NewsDetail.asp?NewsID=108 Inaugural Seniors College Open House October 3 Inaugural Seniors College Open House October 3 (Sydney, NS) - The inaugural Seniors College Open House will take place this Monday, October 3 from 2:00–4:00 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room (CE241) at Cape Breton University. Seniors are invited to attend and meet with course facilitators, obtain information on course selections, and if interested register to become a Seniors College member. Fall classes start October 17. A membership fee for the Seniors College is $25 and includes one free course, a Library card, and a Fitness card for the university fitness facilities. Each additional course for a senior is $25. This fall's courses include: Retirement Planning Made Easy; Modern Novel/Book Club; Health and Wellness; Introduction to Computers, and Cape Breton Lecture Series. The focus of the new Seniors College is on life long learning, enhancing the quality of life through a revitalization of the learning process for seniors aged 50 plus. The College is a volunteer, membership-based organization of peers providing meaningful non-credit courses in a comfortable environment.
