The conference on race, class, and gender issues, which was held at the Keating Millennium Centre, drew together more than 70 academic researchers, community residents, and community advocates to identify research issues which affect the everyday lives of those living in Northeastern Nova Scotia. This newly launched Virtual Health Research Network provides both a community collaboration network for individuals interested in bettering the health and well being of the community and a mechanism for information dissemination. Future research will harness the energies of the communities and organizations that participated in the conference. The research will focus on projects that have potential to decrease existing barriers to health and well being. Further information on the report and a membership list for the Gender Race and Class Research group is available at http://www.stfx.ca/research/polgov/Gender_Race_and_Class.htm
