September 14 J. David Grimes Chair 1:30 p.m., Atrium, Roger-Guindon Hall, (451 Smyth Road, Ottawa) The Univeristy of Ottawa announces the creation of the J. David Grimes Research Chair, in partnership with the Ottawa Health Research Institute, the Canadian Institutes for Health Research and GlaxoSmithKline Inc. This exciting new chair will push the boundaries of neurological research working to identify new cures for brain disorders. September 14 Reception in celebration of excellence in education and research 4 p.m., Tabaret Hall, room 112 (550 Cumberland Street, Ottawa) The University of Ottawa will recognize excellence in research and teaching during a special reception September 14th. President Gilles Patry will be on hand to congratulate four researchers for their work, two of whom will become University Research Chairs. The President will also celebrate the announcement of the newest Research Chair in Canadian Francophonie and the prize for the Young Researcher of the Year 2005. This remarkable evening will be the highlight of the University’s new annual Homecoming tradition.
