The Kawartha Lakes Health Care Initiative (KLHCI) is an incorporated non-profit, charitable, organization whose mission is to recruit family physicians to the City of Kawartha Lakes (CKL), to retain family physicians in the City of Kawartha Lakes, and to conduct research, public education, outreach and advocacy as it relates to recruitment and retention of family physicians.

Ross Memorial Hospital (RMH) is a 175 bed community hospital with a proud history extending back over a century. RMH is an active community hospital serving more than 80,000 local residents and 35,000 seasonal visitors.
