Prerequisites Needed to Study Theatre and Dramatic Studies in Canada |
The prerequisites for theatre and drama programs vary depending on whether the program is offered as a B.A. or B.F.A. degree. For Bachelor of Arts programs, the entrance requirements are geared more toward achievement in areas such as English and other academic subjects. Previous experience in theatre is not usually a requirement for B.A. drama programs. Admissions to B.F.A. theatre programs are highly competitive; interviews and/or letters of intent are also sometimes required for admissions, as well as an audition or resumé of previous theatrical experience (if there is a strong practical component to the program).
