What is Automotive Engineering?

Automotive engineering is a branch of vehicle engineering. Elements of mechanical, electrical, and safety engineering are incorporated into the design and manufacturing of vehicles such as cars, trucks, vans, busses, and motorcycles.

There are 3 types of automotive engineers. Product engineers (design engineers) design and test parts; development engineers design the attributes and ensure proper certification, and manufacturing engineers actually plan the assembly of automobiles.

About Automotive Engineering

Automotive engineering is most similar to mechanical, electrical, and materials engineering.
