What is Critical Care?
Critical care medicine (also called intensive care medicine) is a branch of medicine concerned with the application of life support in critically ill patients. This can include conditions such as breathing problems, acute renal failure, and cardiac arrhythmias. Physicians, nurses, or paramedics who have training in critical care medicine are referred to as intensivists.
