Prerequisites for Graduate Studies in Chemistry |
A previous degree in a related discipline (eg. chemistry, biochemistry) with a minimum B+ average is required for admission to a graduate-level program in chemistry. Advanced experience in a chemistry environment (eg. directed studies, industry experience, etc), is considered an asset.
Admission to a PhD program can either be directly from an undergraduate degree (with extensive research experience and being published in a peer-reviewed journal), or after acquiring a relevant Master's-level degree.
As all graduate programs require a supervisor, most schools require this person to be approved prior to final admission.
