Prerequisites Needed to Study Art History in Canada

The prerequisites for art history vary depending on whether the program is offered as a B.A. or B.F.A. degree. For Bachelor of Arts programs, the entrance requirements are geared more toward achievement in areas such as English and other academic subjects. For Bachelor of Fine Arts programs that incorporate studio courses, there may be portfolio requirements, since students will not only be studying art, but creating it as well. Interviews are also sometimes required for B.F.A. admissions.
