Introduction Established in 1889 and located in Toronto, Ontario, Osgoode Hall Law School of York University is the largest law school in Canada, and is home to the nation's most extensive law library. The School has garnered a worldwide reputation for its preeminent and expert full-time and adjunct faculty and rigorous academic programs, and, in 2006, Canadian Lawyer magazine’s Law School Survey ranked Osgoode as the number 1 law school in Canada. Osgoode aims to create 'a collaborative learning environment' encouraging 'diverse perspectives on law, theoretical and practical learning, and an understanding of the role of law in promoting justice in society.' Ultimately, the School wants its graduates to be able to 'contribute to new knowledge about the law and the legal system' and 'assume positions of leadership' in their chosen professions.
