Description of Scotian Halibut Limited Scotian Halibut Limited is a private Nova Scotia Company, which was incorporated in April 1997 and commenced operations in October 1998. The business is the culmination of years of work by Nova Scotian and Icelandic business interests to develop world-class aquaculture facilities in Southwestern Nova Scotia to produce Atlantic halibut juveniles and Atlantic halibut product for the international market. The company has established a halibut hatchery in Clark’s Harbour (capacity 600 –800,000 juveniles) and a “land based” grow-out facility in nearby Lower Woods Harbour. The company utilizes proprietary halibut aquaculture and water re-circulation technology developed by Scotian Halibut and its partners. Scotian Halibut Limited is presently one of the largest producers of halibut juveniles internationally.
