St. Stephen's University is based in New Brunswick and was founded in 1975 with just six students and a limited faculty. The university now offers a wide range of training programs in both the arts and for the ministry. From a tiny six-student institution, the university now gives its students the opportunity to travel overseas and interact with people from around the world. The university prides itself in its unique approach to bringing its students closer to the word of God. St. Stephen's University offers its students a strong and unique sense of community that transcends studies and prayer together. Students and faculty cook, clean, travel and worship together, thus cementing strong bonds of fellowship and spirituality that will last long after the students complete their course. St. Stephen's University offers provincially-recognized degree programs in the arts which explore aspects such as the connection between Christianity and culture. Two complete terms are spent in Asia or Europe as part of the course requirements. The university also offers a number of training programs for the ministry, which teach both traditional and contemporary approaches to ministry work. Travel, study, prayer, community work and study are all part of the course requirements. Staff and students at the university meet three times a week for chapel services. Guest speakers from other churches and missions also come on a regular basis. A number of community worship events are held on a regular basis to help students connect with God and move forward on their spiritual journey. See also:
