The Nazarene University College was founded in 1921, in the province of Alberta as the Calgary Bible Institute. Today it offers a number of training programs in theology and the arts and sciences to equip students in the service of God and to become responsible and productive members of society. It is the official institution of The Christian & Missionary Alliance in Canada and is affiliated with the Church of the Nazarene Canada. The Nazarene University College campus consists of a number of study areas as well as computer access areas for students. Accommodation is provided in the form of apartment-style housing which is located outside the campus. Rooms are provided with kitchen facilities and furniture. A fully equipped resource library, which houses over 100,000 volumes, is also provided and is the official repository of the Christian and Missionary Alliance's records. The college is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools and offers a Bachelor of Arts program that is accredited at a provincial level. There are also a range of undergraduate theology programs which are accredited by the Association of Biblical Higher Education. Graduate theology programs train students to become missionaries at a national and international level. They are offered through the Canadian Theological Seminary. The Nazarene University College is also open to students from the international community.
