Profile of Career College/Trade School
Canadian Institute of Floral Design was established in 1988 and offers several career focused educational programs in floral arrangement and design. It has trained more than 3000 professional florists and all the instructors as well as the directors and board members have more than two decades of experience ensuring quality education. They all have vast experience in floral shop practices as well as in designing. The classes are offered Monday-Friday for those who take up the full-time program. Class sizes are limited ensuring students get personalized attention. Evening classes are offered throughout the year and they are offered on Tuesday evenings. The tuition fee is fully tax deductible and students who successfully complete the program receive a diploma. Canadian Institute of Floral Design offers a 105-hour, three week program aimed at giving students a foundation level education. An introductory business management course is also offered that helps students learn the various aspects of managing a retail florist store. The students are taught the basic while being encouraged to bring out their creative best. These programs are designed for those who seek to have a career as a professional florist as well as those who take it up as a hobby. The program also helps students use form, color as well as the integration of organic materials as it is closely related to the field of interior designing. Seasonal workshops and seminars are also offered to help students upgrade their skills.
