The Aveda Institute Toronto was established by Horst M. Rechelbacher in 1978. The Institution was started with the aim of training successful entrepreneurs in the world of beauty and fashion. The instructors are professionals with years of experience who train the students in professional skills as well as in business building techniques. The students of the Aveda Institute Toronto are trained to use environmentally friendly products. The students are trained to work in a team. The students are not only given hands on experience in hairstyling but also in dealing with clients, imparting valuable business building skills. The programs are offered four times a year, and classes are held Tuesday to Saturday from 8:30am to 5:30 pm. Class size is limited to about 15 students. Its hairstylist training program consists of 1500 hours of training in both theory and practical. The students are given an opportunity to serve clients under the supervision of their instructor. This helps them learn and interact with the clients better as well as helping them perfect their skills. They are taught using the latest facilities and trained in the skill sets that are currently in demand. They are also trained in resume writing and given tips on how to attend interviews. The institution offers placement service to successful graduates as Aveda has numerous spas and schools around the world. The institution also organizes career fairs to help students secure jobs.
