The University of Skövde is a higher education institution that offers students a chance to take up a variety of programs with Bachelor's or Master's degrees. The institution has formed an alliance with the Halmstad and Örebro Universities to cooperate in the fields of Science and Technology and help students who are involved in research and Doctoral studies. The institution comprises of three Schools; Schools of Humanities and Informatics, Technology, and Society and Life Sciences. The institution also has a Teacher Education unit that trains students who wish to earn a teacher's certificate.

University of Skövde has formed alliances with several leading educational institutions around the world including the University of Wisconsin, Universität Zürich, University College, Dublin National University of Ireland, Université de Nice, France, and Bournemouth University, England among others.
