They learn about the opera history, stagecraft, and drama as well. Students under individual and group training are trained through theory as well as practical classes. The students also attend lectures and workshops that add to their experience. Students who successfully complete the Bachelor's degree can go on to take up a two-year Master's program. Students who have sufficient work experience in the field are also eligible.
University College of Opera, Stockholm offers students who aspire to become répétiteurs and opera directors, a two-year advanced Master's degree program. All the programs offered at the institution are full-time programs. The students are selected after an audition in front of a jury. Students who have not much knowledge of the Swedish language may also take up the programs but have to learn Swedish while they study at the institution.
