Institution ProfileThe Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences is located in Uppsala, in Sweden and offers study programs in areas concerned with biological production and resources. This includes subjects like veterinary medicine, biotechnology, and agriculture. The university aims to imbibe an interdisciplinary approach to all of its courses, with a focus on their applicability in practical circumstances. There are about 4000 students currently enrolled.
The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences operates four main campuses at Skara, Ultana, Alnarp and Umeå. There are four main faculties present, namely landscape planning, horticulture & agricultural science, natural resources and agricultural sciences, veterinary medicine & animal science as well as forest sciences. Students can choose from a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. An exchange program is also available and a number of courses are available in English as well.
The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences is also involved in a number of research projects- in fact; one third of all research done in Sweden on the subject of biological research is done at the university. Research projects cover a number of subjects, including agriculture, horticulture and bioenergy. A number of sustainable development projects are also underway. The university also has a library available for student access and contains a large number of print and online resource materials. The library can also provide assistance to those, who have reading and writing difficulties as well as students who need help with publishing their thesis.
