Institution ProfileBased in Sweden, the Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship is the result of the coming together of four founding institutions, namely the Royal Institute of Technology, Karolinska Institutet, Konstfack and the Stockholm School of Economics. The university was started in recognition of the growing need for modern entrepreneurial skills in the current business market. Courses are designed keeping in mind both regional and international business trends and practices.
All courses at the Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship are geared towards strengthening applied entrepreneurship skills. Students can choose from core programs like ideation, planning, execution and growth. Also offered are context courses in subjects like social entrepreneurship, global entrepreneurial leadership and design & innovation. The university also provides two PhD programs in innovation & technology management and innovation in practice- medical technologies.
The Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship places a great deal of emphasis on extracurricular activities. Networking events are held on a regular basis to allow students to meet with entrepreneurs, business executives and government officials. The university also organizes a number of Boot Camps to help students perfect various business skills such as pitching a project. Start Up Days are held that attract a number of people who come to listen to guest speakers talk about the various aspects of business. These events help the students get a practical grip on what it takes to start up a business and create a successful business plan.
