Institution ProfileLocated in Sweden, the Royal University College of Fine Arts can trace its origins back to the 18th century. The college has a specially designed focus with regard to teaching the fine arts – equal emphasis is placed on traditional art forms and methods as well as modern techniques and modes of expression. There are currently around 230 students enrolled at the university.
The Royal University College of Fine Arts offers a wide range of study options for students, who may choose from undergraduate, graduate and supplementary courses. Visiting students can avail of the guest study programs and there is also a program specially designed for professional artists. A variety of subjects are also available, ranging from architecture, painting and sculpture to digital media and art theory. A range of research projects are also underway at the college.
The Royal University College of Fine Arts holds an open house once a year, to allow prospective students to meet with faculty and inspect the campus. It also gives current students a chance to display their work. Apart from these open days, the college also runs special exhibitions according to a schedule and runs a gallery as well. An exhibition space is also available, where teachers and students may experiment and display finished work or continuing projects. The college also has a number of workshops, which are well equipped. These workshops are mainly used for people with disabilities.
