Institution ProfileLocated in Sweden, the Nordic School of Public Health offers students a range of public health postgraduate degree courses. A diploma course and a postgraduate degree are also available. All courses are taught with adult education in mind, relying more on interactive teaching methods. Dialogue is encouraged among faculty and students rather than simply listening to lectures.
The Nordic School of Public Health gives students the choice of taking each course on an individual basis or in blocks. The school follows the European Credit Transfer System and currently has a diploma, master’s, and PhD program in Public Health. The school generally takes about 30 students for the advanced courses, while research courses only admit 20 students per class. Courses are marked on a pass or fail gradation and a certificate is given on course completion.
Eligible students can find accommodation on campus at the Nordic School of Public Health. Students can take advantage of internet connections, computer rooms, and even bicycle loans. There is also a well-equipped public health library, which has both online and print reference materials on various aspects of public health. The school also provides a special travel refund for its students when traveling through Nordic countries. This refund can be availed for train, bus, plane or car travel and reimburses the actual ticket cost. However, this refund is not applicable to taxis and cannot be used during study travel.
