Institution ProfileMalmö University was established in 1998 in Malmo, Sweden and today, it is the eighth largest undergraduate university in the country. The university offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. There are currently 86 study programs and 466 courses available. Most students pursue one course at a time, as they usually cover 5- 20 weeks. However, other students often combine courses, thus creating their own program. This in turn can lead to an undergraduate or graduate degree.
There are six different faculties currently available at Malmö University- they are health and society, Odontology, arts & communication, international migration & ethnic relations, teacher education as well as technology and society. Research opportunities are also available at the university under three main headings, namely medicine science, technology and natural science as well as humanities & social science.
Malmö University offers its students career guidance, which involves help with deciding what higher education courses students can take. Assistance is also given for any general questions students may have about the university or about the courses. Students also have access to the library and the university also runs a language workshop, which focuses on helping students fine tune their communication skills. Assistance is given for both Swedish and English and students can now access this facility online. Confidential personal counseling is also available free of charge and a nurse is also on hand to give help with general health problems and conditions.
