Institution ProfileThe Halmstad University is organized into two main campuses. The first campus is situated in Halmstad while the other is situated in Varberg. The university opened its doors for students in the year 1973. It has its own Vice Chancellor. The university is an independent institution of higher education.
At present, there are almost seven thousand students studying in the various course programs offered by the Halmstad University. Both bachelor’s degree and master’s degree courses are offered by the university. PhD courses are also available for students seeking advanced education and research. There are ninety three PhD students enrolled in the Halmstad University at present.
The Halmstad University offers a wide range of study programs in a variety of subject areas. The research environment in the university is quite enlightening. Most of the research communities have a unique national or international profile. The university offers its courses at all levels, including undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate, and even PhD level. At present, the university offers forty degree programs. There are thirty professors and fifteen associate professors in the university. There is a staff of over five hundred in the university, excluding these professors and associate professors.
The Halmstad University offers a wide range of course programs – not only in Halmstad and Varberg but also through its large distance learning system.
