Institution Profile

The Göteborg University - department of law offers a cross-disciplinary research and education. Since the year 2004, the department has also started offering a modernized LLM program that focuses on increased use of IT resources, role-play and simulations, new pedagogy, several new courses and cooperation with practicing legal professionals. The LLM program is four to five years long and it leads to a Masters degree in law.

Apart from the specialized LLM program, The Göteborg University - department of law also offers a wide range of optional courses and program courses for postgraduate students of economics and engineering. Several tailored courses for professionals are also offered by the department of law at the Göteborg University.

In the recent years, several new research centers have also been included in The Göteborg University - department of law. The focus of these research centers is mainly on intellectual property, social security, and environmental issues.

The Göteborg University - department of law is a part of the school of Economics and Commercial Law. The students of the LLM program get an easy opportunity to study abroad for further education.
