Institution Profile

The Norwegian University of Science and Technology is located in Trondheim. The university consists of five faculties which have several departments under them. These faculties include those of Medicine, Arts, Engineering Science and Technology, Architecture and Fine Art, and Social Sciences and Technology Management. There are also different centres of education and research at the college. Some of the centres are Centre for Rural Research, Norwegian Centre for Mathematics Education and Norwegian biodiversity information centre.

Various courses are offered at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology at different levels. There are over thirty international master’s courses which are taught in English. These include MPhil in Childhood Studies, MSc in Electric Power Engineering and MSc in Marine Technology. There are several PhD programmes provided by the college. These include the PhDs in Mathematics, Electrical Engineering and Marine Technology. The PhD programmes have a duration of three years which include research and thesis work.

Several scholarships and grants can be availed from the college for selected international students. There are many student academic organisations at the college. These include the Political Science, Psychology, Chemistry and Computer Science societies. The Museum of Natural History and Archaeology is a part of the college and conducts research in cultural and historical areas. It is a public museum as well that is used for extensive research by the college.
